I said to a Nest Hub 2nd Gen:
"Hey google, set a reminder for tomorrow at 12 p.m. to ask Frank about when he's bringing Jane and Tom to the doctor" |
(that's just an example of what I said)
It replied:
"Sorry, I don't know how to help with that. Here are other things you can try" |
This also happens when
It happens with Nest Hub 2nd Gen and also Nest Minis. It's a reproducible issue.
If you say certain words, it refuses to set a reminder, take a note, or send feedback. It seems to think you're asking it to do something else, and instead of just following your initial request, it decides to try to be smart and second guess you.
E.g. When taking notes, if you mention sending feedback, or Google, or words like that, it often refuses to take it by saying, "Sorry, what's the note?" until you use only the words that it approves to be included in your note.
But that's not how it should work. If I say to set a reminder, it should do what I tell it.
If I have an employee and ask them to do something, I don't want them to ask me if that's what I really wanted to say, and refuse to do it until I say it in a way that they find appropriate. I would fire them.
Assistant better shape up or I'll replace it with Home Assistant.

Hi there,
Thanks for posting. Speaking slowly might help if your assistant fails to understand your instructions. Also, you can check my activity settings and see the command that was recognized. See the steps below to get there.
