Automation partially runs

Hi,

I have an automation running that acts as my alarm.

It starts on weekdays at 7:00 am, starts tune-in radio and my lights.

Then at 7:40 it turns off my lights and the music if they're still on.

The problem is sometimes (this entire week for example) the automation doesn't work properly.

It doesn't start music or turn on my lights at all.

It does still turn everything off at 07:40 so the automation does start.

It's created on mobile so I can't see the logging using google home web.

Can I add some sort of check using google or home assistant at 07:01 and see if the music is working?
I oversleep by 30 minutes now ...

Are you using delays between actions?

Are you using the Early Access Google Home app?

You could use a daylong automation in Assistant Settings instead so that you'll have time triggers throughout.

Hi,

Yes I'm using delays between actions

At 07:00 I have a trigger to start the automation.

It then starts the wake automation for my lights (philips hue).

then it sets the volume to 15% (to prevent loud music) and plays the radio (using the built in feature).

After 40 minutes it turns everything off, that's about when I leave for work.

This morning it did work, I turned the automation on and off I also switched the order so it turns on music first then waits 30 seconds before starting my lights wake up routine.

Hi @xVinsjenTx,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry to hear that your weekday alarm routine is failing to turn on the music and lights at 7:00 AM, even though the routine still successfully turns everything off at 7:40 AM. I understand how important this routine is for you. I appreciate the information you provided. I'm happy to assist.

@SmartHomeH-TAGS, Thanks for jumping in.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • Could you confirm the routine is scheduled for 7:00 AM and includes both actions: music and Philips Hue lights?
  • Are there any other routines or smart home automations that overlap with this time?
  • Are the devices involved (the Google Home speaker for the music and the Philips Hue lights) online and accessible in the Google Home app at 7:00 AM when the routine fails?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards.

Derick.

I am having same issue. On alarm cancel, it is supposed to r7n my good morning routine, which gives weather, turns on my lights, then plays radio. This week, there is a 10 sec or so delay before giving me weather, then it quits. If I say hey google good morning the automation runs quickly and completely.
