Can not make a call from Nest Hub

Hi google team

i have issue on my google nest in my company. We have 170 google nest hub 2nd in the our hotel room for guest to contact the reception. Now the all device can not make a call. We already updated the contact in all account and link the nest hub to meet account. There is any solutions to fix this problem. Thanks

It's great to hear good news!     Did you join a beta release of the Meet or Home apps in your quest to fix it?

Good morning, I've tried to for Meet but Google Play said to me that the beta program is full for the moment.

I as well have the same issue and cannot make video calls with certain contacts. The contacts that it does not work with are the ones that I call the most, they were the ones that I called before the switch to Google meet.

Found a solution for Google Meet. it maybe the same in Google Hub.

• press the 3 dashed lines at the upper left corner of the google meet app and go to settings then meeting settings and turn off the Leave empty calls. close the app and open it again and wait for it to refresh then you can now direct call.

March 24th, 2026, I have been monitoring this thread for a while now and never had anything to input. Until now.

I have this exact problem on all my Hub Max devices.  It keeps trying to default to Duo. HOWEVER I just noticed that I can ACTUALLY make meet calls from my hub max but it only works for specific contacts. Some contacts the calls go through just fine. While other contacts gives the "duo calling is no longer available on this device" This is very strange

I have the same issue - I get duo calling is no longer available on this device. I have a google nest max.

I think it was actually discontinued on that device. The nest hub Max is the one that still has service.

Go to your Google account and go to personal info.  Click on phone number.   If no phone number is listed than add one.  Choose the option for better sharing and to let people find you.    The recipients need to do this to I believe.   

You can join beta if you want to receive possible bug fixes early.

Did my advice work?   Do both you and recipient have phone number in your accounts?

It did not. Error message from Google Max is Google cannot make a call on Duo. Please use your phone or other device. UGH!
