Can’t seem to control more than one smart light!

Hi guys. I’ve bought two GE smart bulbs, one for each of my kids rooms. Problem is, i can’t get them both working at the same time.
Now, I don’t mean that I can’t sync them together, I’m not even trying to do that. I have them installed in separate rooms, and when I install the second one, the first one stops responding. So I uninstall and reinstall and, like magic, it starts working by the other one stops responding!

Both rooms have their own nest devices and I’m calling each light a name specific to that room. The nest speaker chimes like it thinks it’s controlling the light, but the light does nothing.

Has anyone encountered similar or have a solution?

Hey Vna77,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear that you're having issues controlling one of your GE lights using your Google Nest Audio. A few questions - when did the issue start? What is the specific model of your GE lights? Are you able to control the lights on the Google Home app? How about from the Google Assistant app on your phone?

Could you try renaming the bulbs again, then make sure to set a unique name for each device. Please avoid putting the room name or names with similar words.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Thank you for the suggestions, I haven’t had a chance to try this yet! I hopefully will tonight. I do have one named as the name of the room it is in, so I will fix that and report back.

the lights are GE Imagine sync a60 smart bulbs. They both join the home fine, but a short time after one stops responding to voice or app commands (which ever is the second to join, so it’s not a faulty bulb).

Hey Vna77,

Thanks for the update. Can you still control them on the Google Home app? Also, how many lights do you have? After the steps above and the issue persists, try rebooting your devices manually.

Keep us posted!

Best,

Alex

Thanks for your help here. After trying to manually reset the globe that’s not responding I think I have a defective unit. I’ll exchange it and see how I go.
