Chromecast is unable to connect. Bad product, always has been.

My Chromecast has always been terrible to work with. Google home app is hopelessly unhelpful and very much user-unfriendly. This is from a computer science-educated engineer.

Since I bought this device it has been unreliable at best. Now I can’t even coerce it to get an internet connection. User beware, this thing sucks.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. I’m sorry about the trouble; this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. A few questions: what Chromecast device do you have connected to your TV? Did you have a chance to set it up successfully (even once)? If yes, have there been any changes made (changes with the network or router settings, positioning of the devices, recent devices or equipment added to the house, configuration on the phone that may have prevented the completion of the setup, etc.)?
