I have two outdoor gate sensors from Yolink. I want to have them execute a broadcast message to my Google Home speakers around the house between say 12AM and 5AM (to detect any suspicious person in my back yard). Another post gave me a work around using Alexa to speak to Google Home telling it to broadcast the gate opening. Well that works but as you will likely admit, its a kluge. Anything coming from google that permits a sensor event to trigger a google routine? Also I want it to be active only during certain hours. Any other ideas? Would have thought Google would have tackled this by now.

Hi KennyD1949,
This could be achieved using something like Home Assistant . I use Home Assistant myself running on a Raspberry Pi for my advanced home automation.

I looked at all this and it seems like a replacement for the Google Home system given that it doeesnt yet support event triggers that announce an event through broadcast. Not sure at this point I want to invest in another system although its great to know this exists.
