My Google Nest Hub Max keeps changing status from away to home even though I'm away  (by touch control) and has to be changed manually back to away. Please advise.

Hi Maia1,

Thanks for reaching out. When did it begin? Were there any recent changes made prior to the issue starting? Do you have other home members added and are you using the home away feature? Also, what steps have you taken so far?

Try to disable and enable phone location for presence sensing and observe if it makes a difference. Check out the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Settings and then Presence sensing.
  3. Turn Allow this home to use phone locations on or off.

Learn how to use your phone location for better presence sensing.

Juni

Hi, it had happen on my Google Max Hub 6 minutes ago. I'm atm 11 km away from home. I have done the above stated amd even removed and factory reset it few times, no progress. I've noticed that around that time when I'm at home, it restart and the screen shows restarting but since I'm at home, nothing changes. Whereas if I'm away, like today, it changes to home regardless of not being at home. Presence sensing has been updated numerous times. Doesn't help. Please advise

Hello Maia1,

Apologies for the delay. Could you provide your Google Nest Hub Max's cast firmware version?

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX"

Check the version on your Nest display

  1.  Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  2. Tap Settings and then About device. You should find your "Cast firmware version."
    • For Nest Hub (1st gen) and Nest Hub Max: If “Fuchsia Version” is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.

We look forward to your response.

Best,

Princess
