Google Nest shuts off after turning on

BorisdeBlok

My Nest Audio speaker turns off after being turned on by itself. When plugged in the 2 lights go on after which the four lights start pulsing but then instead of starting the instalation message it turns itself off, only to (after about 5 minutes) repeat this cycle. It doesn’t want to reset and I have tried power cycling all to no avail.

I saw some other people having this issue but no solves where posted.

please help

Hi @BorisdeBlok,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand your Google Nest Audio speaker shuts off and repeats a power-up cycle after being turned on, and that you've already tried power cycling and resetting it without success. I'm happy to assist you.

To better understand the issue, please provide the following information:

  • What are the colors of the LED lights on the speaker when it powers on?
  • Please confirm if you have more than one Google Nest Audio speaker.
  • Did you experience any recent power outages?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Have you tried to factory reset your speaker?

The color of the LED lights will indicate the possible reason for the issue, such as power or update problems.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Anders

Hi Anders,

the LED’s are white in color, I have 3 other Nest Audio speakers, I haven’t used them for about a year and the issue started when I tried to boot them up again at my new address. Unfortunately I am unable to perform a factory reset.

please let me know what you think,

best,

Boris

Hi @BorisdeBlok,

Thank you for your reply and the information provided.

Are you experiencing this issue with all three of your Google Nest Audio speakers?

If it is only occurring with one, please try swapping it with a power cable from one of your other speakers. Then, perform a factory reset by following the steps below:

  1. On the back of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange.
  2. Press and hold the centre of the Nest Audio, near the top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process.
  3. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.
Keep me posted.

Regards,
Anders

The other ones are working, however, despite the power source the white lights keep cycling and don’t turn orange when the mic is turned off nor does it reset.
