Google assistant reading back every command in routine

Hi Friends,

I have had a "bedtime" routine where we say "good night", and our home security arms, and turns off any lights that are on, in non-essential areas.

For the last 2 years, it has been great, just with google assistant confirming that our home is armed, and all the lights turn off quietly.

In the last month, Google Assistant now reads back every light command . i.e.

"okay, turning off den light 1"

"okay, turning off den light 2"

"okay turning off kitchen light 1" etc.

Does anyone know of any way to get the assistant to stop reading back every part of the routine when it is initiated?

Thanks in advance!

You use a graphical routine in GHome App or a YAML script written in Automation ?

No, its all done in google home app. Its been great for the last 2 years, and we haven't changed anything, which is why is strange that all of a sudden, its confirming the entire list of commands individually.

You're not the first talking about that here... Maybe a GHome update ?

Try to replace all the device actions by a "vocal" command, i.e. "Swicht off all the lights"

I’m also having the same issue. There’s no in app way that I see to disable reading each command. It just started happening recently and I’ve only been using the app to configure actions.

This has been an issue with Google Home Devices for several years. I try to research it every 6 months or so and have never seen this resolved. At one point the Home app did have a way to adjust this setting, but after one of the app UI updates it wasn't available anymore. I think it was in a device-based setting menu that included assistant settings, but it's been years so I don't recall exactly. Since it was once available as a setting, I've got a few devices where it was configured that do not respond and just execute the command; unfortunately, all other devices parrot the command. Changing Settings>>>Assistant voice & sounds sensitivity to "None" (instead of brief or full) also doesn't work, but that's the most commonly recommended solution I've seen.

Still happening with me.  How is my 18 step bedtime routine going to help me sleep if it insists on announcing each step of the routine? Google, please help!
