Google home, find my iphone, phone does not ring even though app says it is

I am unable to get google home nest app to find my iphone. I have an Iphone 12 IOS 18.6.2

I have enabled critical alerts

I have verified network

I have installed and uninstalled the app

I have tried every suggestion that I can find and still no success.

I can tell google nest to call my phone, and it does so with no problem.  The problem is with the find my phone feature.

I normally can solve these problems, but after hours and hours I seek your assistance.

Thank you!

I have read about your situation and understand perfectly how frustrating it is when, even after checking the network, reinstalling the app, and trying all possible settings, the "find my phone" feature still does not work. Sometimes the problem may not be with the system or app itself, but rather with confusion between services due to identical or outdated login details. In such cases, I would advise not only checking your iPhone settings, but also paying attention to other services that help find digital connections between accounts. For example, on the website, you can analyze where else a particular login or username is used, reverse username search free. This sometimes allows you to understand whether there are conflicts between different platforms or old profiles that interfere with the operation of related functions. This approach helps to take a broader view of the problem and find solutions where you might not always expect them.

Hi dmmurphy1,

Thank you for posting in the community. I see you're having trouble with the "Find My Phone" feature that isn't working for your iPhone, and that the Google Home app confirms it's ringing, but no sound is actually being made on your device. I understand how frustrating this must be. I appreciate all your troubleshooting steps you've already attempted and for your assistance, @PiterFreide. I'm here to help.

To resolve this situation, please follow these steps to ensure the necessary settings are correctly configured, particularly the Voice Match setting, which is key to linking the devices:

Step 1 : Verify Voice Match is Enabled in Google Assistant.

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top right, tap the account (display photo).
  3. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your devices.
  4. Tap Assistant settings, then Voice Match, and then select Add device with Voice Match.
  5. Make sure you check all the devices that need the "Find My Device" feature enabled.
  6. Tap Continue and then I agree.
  7. Follow any remaining in-app steps and proceed with the Voice Match setup if prompted.

Once completed, try saying the command to find the phone again. Google Assistant should now send a notification to your iPhone.

Important: Google Assistant will only ring the iPhone that was last used to sign into the Google Home app. The iPhone must also be actively connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data to successfully receive the call notification and the phone number needs to be linked to the Google Account.

Please keep me posted on how it goes.

Regards,

Byron
