I recently added a Gosund smart plug. Immediately after adding the device to Google Home it shows as offline although I can control it from the Gosund app.

Hi KHerbold,
Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out. A few questions: are you using a dual-band router? If yes, on which band is Gosund smart plug connected? Do you have household members in the Google Home app?
Regards,
Alex

Thanks for replying Alex. The plug started having issues in the native app as well so I decided to return it. I guess this thread can be closed.

One possible solution:
If you are using a modem that works with 5g and it has dual mode (2.4G and 5G) you need to first remove all the devices from the app and Google Home, then connect to the 2.4G network and add the device again. this way it works.

Hi zoosmell,
Thanks for posting and for letting us know about your Gosund concern. A few questions: are you using Android or iOS? Were there any recent changes made? Also, what steps have you taken so far? You can relink Gosund and observe if it makes a difference.

Juni

Gosund smart plug and fan switch show offline in Google Home app but both online and working working in Gosund app. Android 14 on S23 ultra. Unlinked Gosund in Google home and relinked, no change. No changes, worked for months, then they just dropped out. Seems like it happened after a power outage. How do I get Google Home to see them as online again. They are online with Gosund's app.

I have the same issue. It worked fine and just suddenly stopped working from Google Home. I am able to control only from Gosund. Did you figure out how to fix or do I need to find a different smart plug?

Same issue, just 1 of my many gosund devices that have been installed for over a year just suddenly stopped working only in Google home. All my other gosund devices still work. Works fine from the gosund app but shows offline in Google home.

I've been using these for some time now and used to have issues after power outages. In my opinion it was an issue with my cox router not connecting to some of the devices, especially the wall switches. I had a 2.4 and a 5Ghz running. I wasn't always on the 2.4 with my phone which may have been part of the issue. I also have a ranch home so the wifi can get weak in areas with to many walls between. What seems to have solved it for me is adding 4 amazon eero 6 mesh wifi routers and turning off my cox panaramic wifi. This network is unique in the way it combines the 2.4 and 5Ghz channels for better total bandwidth. More importantly, the devices and my phone are always on the same channel. I got them in April this year, no issues yet. Bonus, I now get wifi in my garage and driveway which helps when it comes to android auto and spotify while working out there.

Ps, I got them on ebay and went with the last generation for cost. Got 3 for 95 and 1 without a charger for 20. I recommend new because the used one was picky about the charger and cable then it gave me a tough time to reset. The new ones were a breeze.
