Help! I the hot water won’t work unless the heating is on

We’ve moved into a new property over 2 weeks ago. So far our hot water in the shower will only work if our heating is on. Once we press the booster button ( Emersion boiler), the Google nest sets to “Manual”. Then the heating in the house comes on. If we turn this off, we don’t get hot water. 

How do we get hot water without having the heating on in the whole of the house? British Gas said it could be to do with Google Nest and if this is the case, they can’t help. Does anyone have any solutions?

Could you please confirm what type of Nest thermostat you have? To check it, please check out the next article: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have. I recommend you create a routine for your Nest thermostat and the hot water. If you already have one, please delete it and create a new one.
