Since getting a Chromecast with Google TV device a few years ago, it's worked relatively seamlessly with Home Controls for my lights, cameras, thermostats, etc.
However, it's now patchy at best, and this last couple of days won't work at all. I click the Assistant button on the remote and say what I need, eg: "Bedroom lamp on" and nothing happens. Previously, if I heard a weird noise outside I could say, "Show front" and my front camera would stream on the telly attached to the Chromecast. Now? I get a list of YouTube videos with "Front" in the title. I've even tried being more specific (which I didn't have to do in the past), I said, "Stream front camera on lounge TV". I got the same list of YouTube vids.
I haven't moved any devices or changed anything.
Today, I've followed all the troubleshooting advice (checked for software updates, restarted devices, unpaired and re-paired the remote, etc).
Anybody know what's up?
Is this that horrid Gemini thing breaking Assistant?
Has Google, yet again "fixed" something that wasn't broken?

Hi Dingledooodie,
Thanks for reaching out to our community.
I’m sorry to hear that during the last few days your Chromecast with Google TV is not working as it used to with your other devices, such as your lamps and front camera, when you command an action using the button of the Google Assistant. I appreciate you letting us know the troubleshooting steps you have tried to better understand your experience. No worries, help is here.
Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:
Please keep me posted.
Best regards,
Virna
