Integration of blinds controlled by Broadlink RM4 Pro

My blinds are controlled using the broadlink hub. In the Broadlink app I have 3 buttons for controlling the blinds: "Down", "Up" and "Stop". I have defined 2 scenes, one for  moving the blinds up and one for moving them down, having the corresponding action selected.

I have integrated the broadlink device via the broadlink app and. alternatively, by adding selecting broadlink from the list of compatible services igf adding a device in the home app.

The hope app shows the blinds as a device in the correct room, indicating that it is connected via Broadlink, indicating the name of the device as defined in the Broadlink app and indicating as device typ "curtain".

So far so good. But if trying to define a scenario according to which the blinds are to be lowered 1 hour after sundown, I have only the option to "start" or "stop" the device and neither option causes the blinds to go down.

Hi Harm,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community and sorry for the late response.

A few things: are you trying to create a routine in the Google Home app using your blinds? Was this working before or this is the first time that you are trying it? Which Google Nest speaker/display do you own?

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Juni

Hi Juni,

Many thanks for responding 🙂 I have a Google Nest Hub 2 and not yet really good at using it. In parallel I have the Google Home App installed on my iPhone and via the app I can at least operate my Light bulbs and read out room temperatures from sensors that I have in my rooms for controlling the floor heating. The nest hub is visible in there too.

I have not yet succeeded in operating the blinds that can be operated by an RF signal generated by the Broadlink device ....

Hi Harm,

Thanks for the response. Glad to know that other third party devices are working.  Have you tried using the routine feature to control your blinds? Check these steps below on how to do it.

Create a personal Routine:

Important: To get results like calendar events and commute info, you must turn on personal results.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. On the Home screen , tap Routines  and then New and then Personal.
  3. To name your Routine, next to "New Routine," tap Edit .
    • If you add a voice starter before you name your Routine, the voice starter becomes the name.
  4. Add the starters and actions you want.
  5. If your Routine is set to start automatically and includes actions with audio, select the device you want the audio to play on.
    • At the bottom, tap No device for audio.
    • Select the device.
    • Tap Save.
  6. Tap Save.

Create a household Routine:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Home app Google Home.
  2. On the Home screen Home, tap Routines and then New and then Household.
  3. Add at least one starter and one action.
  4. If your Routine is set to start automatically and it includes audio actions, select the audio device:
    • At the bottom, tap No device for audio.
    • Select the device.
    • Tap Save.
  5. At the bottom, tap Save.

Check this link for more information.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Juni

Dear Juni,

thanks very much for your response and advice. The problem with the blinds is that I can only define the action as "switch on" or "switch off". The blind does not react to that and the app sends me a warning at the time at which the action was planned.

Harm
