I’ve had a Meross presence sensor set up for a little while, running an automation for a strip light, which lights up the reveal around the skylight when the room is occupied. It’s been faultless.
it’s now completely stopped working - the sensor is brand new and working as expected - in the native app I can see the presence detection. The light also works fine, voice command or from the home app. The automation has just stopped automatically triggering - if I press play on the automation in the home App it works fine.
Any ideas? It’s as frustrating as anything when it was fine last week and nothing has changed!

Hi @DaveClee,
Thank you for posting in the community! I understand the issue you're facing with your Meross Presence Sensor. It’s frustrating that it was working perfectly and suddenly stopped activating automatically, especially since the sensor is new. To help narrow this down, I appreciate you verifying that the automation still works in the native app, via voice commands, and manually within the Google Home app. I’m glad to help you get this back to working automatically.
To help me identify the root cause of the issue, I have a few questions for you:
I look forward to your reply so I can assist you further.
Best regards,
Stephanie

Hi @StephanieQ,
Thank you, so, yes, everything is up to date. I am using iOS 26.2.1 on iPhone.
my Google home version is 4.8.50, the Meross app is up to date too (3.39.0).
The routines are also set to active.
So far, I have reset the sensor, unlinked and relinked Meross to Google home. I deleted and recreated the automations too. Originally they were set with time parameters (only to activate when the sun had set), however I removed the times as I had read there had been some issues with automations that included time triggers.
I also used Gemini to script them for me, however none on this has made any difference.
appreciate your support with this,
many thanks

Hi, I have spent a whole day deleting and resetting everything and it is finally working. It's just crazy that everything should have to be hard reset, when they're all matter devices!

It is in fact now un-fixed, I've gone home and it's offline and not working again.
how is it so hard to keep anything going on Google home right now?

Hi.
I did create the automation In the app as standard, but no joy.
in fact, the sensor is pretty much just always offline in the home app now, despite functioning as it should when viewed from its native app.
If I wasn't so invested up until now, I'd be looking to jack it all in, it's infuriating!

same here.
tried really everything(!) - days of efforts and my lifetime - I hate being an employee of all those greedy tech companies without getting paid for their lousy products. meross presence sensors stopped working in Google home and with homeassistant automation. both sensors, I have, did well for 2 weeks until about 2 weeks ago.
HA logs are stating triggers are sent correctly, yet no device receives them ...

Hi @hpichl,
Thanks for posting in the community! I understand that you’re experiencing issues with your Meross Presence Sensors, which have stopped working in the Google Home app and with your automation. I appreciate the time and effort you’ve invested in troubleshooting.
Besides the steps you've already tried, if you haven’t yet, I suggest removing and recreating the automation using a different name. If the issue remains, I recommend contacting Meross directly, as the manufacturer, they have the necessary expertise to resolve concerns specific to their products. Here’s the Meross Contact Support page.
Please feel free to keep me updated, and let me know if you have any further questions.
Best regards,
Stephanie
