Missing Nest Doorbell Footage

Hello Google Nest Community,

I am experiencing an issue with my Nest Doorbell where certain events are not being recorded properly. On April 26, 2025 at approximately 7:59 PM, an individual approached my front door, rang the doorbell and knocked. However, the video did not record and I received the message "This video isn’t available yet. Check back later."

Interestingly, subsequent events were recorded correctly.

Could someone please provide guidance on how to retrieve the footage or assist in troubleshooting this issue? I’d appreciate any help in ensuring my system functions properly for future security.

I appreciate your inquiry about how to retrieve the footage of certain events that your Nest Doorbell is not recording properly. No worries, help is here.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • Is your mobile device updated?
  • What is the model of your Nest Doorbell? You can use this help center as a model reference: Technical specs for Nest cameras and doorbells
  • Are you using the Nest app or the Google Home app to manage your Nest doorbell?
  • Is your Google Home app or Nest app updated?
  • Are you signed into the right account?
  • Can you check the camera’s live feed?
  • Do you have a Nest Aware subscription? If so, what type of Nest Aware subscription do you have?
  • How is the internet connection in general? Do you experience any issues with any devices going offline, slow downloads, too many people online at once, etc.?
  • Do you have a schedule set up for your Nest Doorbell? Did the schedule say the Nest Doorbell should have been on at the time of the missing history?
  • What is the make and model of your router/modem? How about any repeaters or extenders they have?
  • Do you have more family members added to your Home structure in the Google Home or Nest app?
