This product requires a pin if you want to lock while gone from your home. Unfortunately the pin I had won’t let me in to control my air conditioner. That means if can control through the app the air conditioner will run all night & day. Be careful when this product is tie to your electrical company.

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand that you’re experiencing some inconveniences with your Nest Thermostat E regarding it being locked and requiring a PIN that you don't have, which is preventing you from controlling your AC. Don’t worry! Let me help you out with this.

Please take note that the only way to lock or unlock the thermostat is directly through the app; because of this, the thermostat will not lock itself automatically when you are away from home. Since your thermostat is currently online in the app, we can perform some steps and monitor the device for 24–48 hours to check its behavior.
