Next Gen 4 will not default to the off position when heating cycle turns off (furnace off)

Just stays orange.  Have turn system off then back on to reset system.

To determine the most effective troubleshooting plan, could you please answer the following questions:

  • When was the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) installed?
  • What type of HVAC system do you have?
  • Are there any error codes on the thermostat screen?
  • Can you send a picture of the wiring connections at the thermostat base?
