Scheduling turning off something works on one device and not the other

I’ve noticed this since kicking GH up to Gemini. I will usually set one of the TVs to turn off after a certain about of time - “hey Google, turn off the bedroom TV in an hour”.

What has changed is it now tells me it can’t do that. I get told “I’m unable to schedule actions for a specific time”.

That’s on the speaker in a couple of the rooms. I have a Google speaker or display in each room.

After trying a couple of other room speakers I found one that accepted it at scheduled the TV to turn off after the requested time. I seem to be able to perform this function on one speaker device but not another. Same network, all on the same home profile.

Hi @Teehawk,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand that you have been experiencing some issues with your Google Nest speakers and displays where scheduling commands to turn off your TV is only working on some of your devices; specifically, you're getting the error message 'I’m unable to schedule actions for a specific time' since switching to Gemini. I know it can be tricky when devices do not respond correctly after an update, but I appreciate your efforts in testing this across multiple units; let’s look into this together!

Before we move forward, I need some information to provide you with the most accurate steps:

  • How many devices do you have?
  • What are the models of your devices?
  • On which specific models is this working?
  • What is the firmware version of your devices?
  • Is the Google Home app up to date?

Once you provide this information, I will be more than happy to assist you!

Best regards,

Debora
