Smart bulbs from old house won’t work at new house

Eclindgren

I have 3 smart bulbs that I could control from my Google home app. I moved recently and deleted all the devices from my Google home account, then deleted the home. I went to set up new cameras and other new smart devices at my new home and was able to without a problem. But the smart bulbs I brought with me now aren’t recognized by Google home. I don’t know which brand they are. Why won’t they work now?

Hey Eclindgren,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― let’s check this out.

What you did was actually the right thing to do since you have moved to a new home with a new Wi-Fi connection. You need to set up all your smart light bulbs the way you’ve set up your new cameras and smart devices. Since Google Home is reliant on the functions of 3rd party devices, getting help from them would be ideal. But before that, I need you to follow this link Use smart lights with Google Nest or Home devices for our troubleshooting.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Dan

Hi Eclindgren,

I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above? If yes, how is it?

Thanks,

Dan
