Trigger an non integrated device from a Camera Event?

I would like to open a sprinkler when an animal is detected on a camera. I can control the sprinkler through a POST request. How could I automate the "animal detected on camera" --> "POST request" with Google Home Automation (or other ideas you may have)? Any way to create a "virtual device" which action would be to send that request? Any other ways?

While I didn't manage with Smartthings, I did make it work with IFTTT. I just needed to create an Applet with a Webhooks action. On the Google side, create a script with the IFTTT scene as action. The IFTTT account needs to be connected with the Google Home App, and then the IFTTT scene will appear as autocomplete in the script editor.

Try using Samsung SmartThings. You can create a virtual device using the advanced features available at https://my.smartthings.com/advanced/devices. Later, link SmartThings with Google Home by navigating to 'Works with Google' in the settings. You should be able to configure a device to use a URL for GET requests; however, I'm not sure about using a POST request. Give it a try.

Thank you that sounds like a great idea. However I could not find how to run http requests in Smartthings (or any custom command for that matter), even after searching and reading quite a bit :-/. The closest I got was that I think I need to create a SmartApp(?). From the URL you give I don't see how to add anything except predefined devices. Any additional hints or pointer (I have never used Smartthings before)?
