Unable to attach Nest Protects due to error code P030 which is not resolved based on all the posts

Still waiting for a resolution to this which has been open for months.  After connecting one Nest Protect, no more can be connected via the network regardless of the router or router settings.  I have a new Linksys 6203 with Ipv6 and still this doesnt work.  We need a concrete solution, not links to one or two people who get something to work for their specific circumstances.  We all have different routers and we all have different wifi settings so come up with a real solution the helps ALL Nest protect owners rather than linking to one or two specific cases out of thousands.

Thanks, and I hope there will be a concrete step by step solution on resolving this for all owners because hiding information from customers or telling customers AFTER the fact about this caveat or that for these things to work is dishonest and unethical.  If there are conditions that these things do not work Google should be transparent and say them upfront, not years after owning a product, saying, "Ooops we forgot to tell you, and sorry but your warranty has past so too bad for you".

Looking forward to a real serious response this time rather than the nonsense I have read on posts about 1 or 2 people out of thousands getting a fix while everyone else is left hanging.

Hi AndrewH123,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble setting up additional Nest Protects. Let’s check it out.

A few questions: What model of Nest Protect do you have? Are you using an Android or iOS device? Aside from confirming that IPv6 is enabled on your router, what other troubleshooting steps have you taken?

Before troubleshooting, here’s a guide on the recommended Wi-Fi network and router settings.

Follow the steps below to confirm that the mobile device and the Nest app are up-to-date.

  1. Check for iOS or Android system updates and install them if there´s any.
  2. Uninstall the Nest app, then restart the mobile device.
  3. Re-install the Nest app.
  4. Install Nest Protect. The Nest app will ask you if you have additional Nest Protects to set up. If so, it'll take you through a faster setup. Be sure to keep all your Nest Protects together until they're all set up and ready to be installed.

If the issue persists, check out this handy guide to help you if you can’t connect Nest Protect to the app or Wi-Fi.

Keep me posted.

All the best,

Lance
