I use the broadcast to create mindfulness reminders for myself throughout the day. But now it says “this is a broadcast” before my broadcast. And it really throws a cramp in the flow of the broadcasts I setup.
it already had the chime. Now it also announces that it’s a broadcast - super annoying!!!
how do I turn this off!?

Using Early Access of Google Home app?
Using an announcement goes straight to the message.
A Personal Daylong automation for all day announcements would be the best option.
Select your profile picture in the Google Home app > Home Settings > Google Assistant > Routines.

There's no more routines....only "automations"

@MelE1 Google is a little weird in naming them Automations and Routines.
I think they can be both.
- Automations when triggered by a smart home device.
- A Routine when it's scheduled or voice activated.
The screenshot below is from the directions I described above.

I'm having the same issue. Started a week ago saying "INCOMING BROADCAST" before any routine I have that announces and it is super jarring and annoying.

Same here. Started recently for all recurring schedule announcement routines.

Same issue, I hate it!

This has also started occuring with my automations and it is super annoying. It takes twice as long to get to the message. I know it's a broadcast by the little sound it plays first. I don't need, "Incoming broadcast. Here's the broadcast: Go to school."

Same issue here, but this happens only when creating an automation with the new editor using the action "broadcast". If I select "previous household editor" from the three dots next to the automation save button to switch to the old editor, and then use the action "announce to household", then the old way of announcing still works - i.e no pre-message "incoming broadcast, it says..." Fingers crossed this does not get removed

My old announcements have started doing this and I have tried doing ne ones with old editor and they do it, too.

Hi there,
Thank you very much for reaching out to this community. I understand that you have been receiving an "Incoming broadcast" message before your actual broadcast Automation is announced. This has been happening with the new Automation editor in the Google Home app, but this issue does not occur with the previous Automation editor.
If this is the case, it might be that a new feature has been added which has caused some kind of bug. Therefore, I would like to invite you to send your feedback to voice your opinion on this matter. You can do this through the Google Home app.
Due to what has happened, I would like to recommend that you create a broadcast routine using the old or previous automation editor so that you do not receive the unwanted "Incoming broadcast" message before the actual message.
Keep me posted.
Best regards,
Eduardo

I've done this but still get the unwanted broadcast message. Please advise how to properly get rid of it and just play the required message.

I have found that if I don’t choose all for the devices, but instead choose three of my four Minis, it just does the actual announcement. I haven't tried choosing all for individually. Running the routine manually never uses the incoming broadcast bit, only on the trigger, so it is annoying to test.

There was a time when something this stupid would have been fixed. They don't care anymore.

I use Google Home in Spanish and the broadcasts are now made in English. This did not happen before. It's completely broken.
