Hello! I was hoping to set up a script to play a custom Youtube Music playlist on the speaker in my child's Nursery at a scheduled time every night, but I've run into some issues. I suspect the okGoogle command isn't using my "user" context for this command, as it is failing to play the right thing.
Here's what I've tried:
1. Set up an automation in the Google Home Android App with the custom text "play chill baby playlist on nursery speaker" - this seems to do nothing
2. Set up an automation in the Google Home Android App using the "Play music" action, specifying "Chill Baby Playlist" and using the Nursery Speaker device for audio - this also seems to do nothing. I also changed it to just "Chill Baby," which is the title of the playlist, to no effect
3. Set up a script in the web app using the OkGoogle command with the text "play chill baby playlist" using the `Nursery speaker - Nursery` device. In the home app it claimed to be playing a track from this playlist, but the actual music playing was some unrelated song not on the playlist (this was especially bizarre)
4. Typing out "play chill baby playlist on nursery speaker" into google assistant on my Android device - this seems to work!
5. Set up an automation in the Google Home Android App with the custom text "play ocean sounds on nursery speaker" - nothing seems to happen.
6. Set up a script in the web app using the OkGoogle command with the text "play ocean sounds" using the `Nursery speaker - Nursery` device. This actually seems to work! I will stick with this for now, but of course is not exactly what I'd like to be playing.
Not sure why the web app scripting can actually play ocean sounds where the android app routine fails, but it's nice that *something* works. For what it's worth, I used to have a routine setup from Android that I manually triggered using my voice, and that seemed to play the ocean sounds just fine as well (I did not have a custom playlist to play at the time). This routine did occasionally cause the words "something went wrong" (or something to that effect) to come out of the speakers, however (despite everything actually working just fine!).
Thank you for your help 🙂
