people having issues connecting their philips hue products to google home

please update bridge for the 2nd gen of Philips Hue bridge is 1.63.1963171020

 

if you are having problems with linking Philips Hue Lights to Google Home, Alexa, Apple Home kit if you haven't linked anything follow the steps below:

  1. if you have the google app installed. open google app
  2. press where your google picture is located in the top right of the screen
  3. select manage account and select data and privacy
  4. scroll down until you reach "data from apps and services you use
  5. select third-party app and services
  6. scroll down and select philips hue
  7. then delete all connections you have with philips hue
  8. press confirm

once this is completed follow these steps below()

  1. open philips hue application
  2. select settings
  3. scroll down and select smart home
  4. select get started
  5. select other apps
  6. select get pairing code
  7. select next after reading it
  8. copy the code
  9. open google home
  10. press device tab
    1. if the google home app detects the bridge, do the step by step on that method. if not skip this step
  11. press add
  12. matter enabled device
  13. select no QR Code
  14. paste the code into the search bar

this part is done if you have successfully added it.

 

if you have linked a different assistant such as Alexa and apple homekit but you want to add Google voice assistant to it, follow these steps

  1. open philips hue app on phone
  2. select the settings tab
  3. scroll and select the smart home
  4. press the blue + icon
  5. select the service you want to add (if google follow steps 5-14)
  6. if it opens a different app. follow the step from there
