"Complex" command with google home and questions

Hello Guys,

I have a few questions and have hard time to find a proper answer, I test my luck here. If you have link for tutorial or anything if it's general questions, do not hesitate !

1/ I d'like to the possibility for instance to say "Hey google, movie night" and so my tv turns on, launch netflix, change light with low intensity... But when looking on google home, I cannot do a command with netflix starting (my TV has a chromecast 2020) and the light is only with 100% intensity. Any advice on another app or a way to do that ?

2/ I'm looking for a sound bar compatible with chromecast, most of the time I found sound bar directly with a google assistant (a bit more expensive so), I just would like to find one that I could connect somehow (splitter HDMI ?, bluetooth?) that my chromcast could control, turn on/off etc. Any advice on what to look for ?

3/ A bit similat then 1, I would like to say "Gotta sleep" and so everything turns off and also something that can put my phone in plane mode (samsung) is it possible to do that ?

Thank you for your answers ! 🙂

I Believe you should look into utilizing the IFTTT App. (Link for Apple app here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ifttt-automation-workflow/id660944635 ). Also,  Apple Shortcuts app (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shortcuts/id1462947752 ) may have/or be a part of the answers you are looking for. Both are great tools for integrating home automation with Apple.

Population One is Lyfe.

IFTTT helped indeed and also specific command on google home that I didn't noticed at start (or understood how it was working).

I'm still looking for the bar sounds but if no one has an idea, I guess you can lock 🙂

Hey there,

Glad to hear that IFTTT helped. Unfortunately, I'm not sure about the compatible sound bars with Chromecast, but you can always do your own research to see as I'm sure there are tech specs that would be able to help you with that answer.

I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to create a new thread.
