5 wire to Nest

So I didn't take a pic of the old Wiring.  5 wire going to a Honeywell 6000? With a wire jumper to Rh & Rc.  System is a Lennox Gas heater with forced air AC.

Setting it up the first time, I had messed up Blue going to O/B.  When I turned the heat on, the AC  came on.

2nd try I had it straight, with Blue connected to C.

Now, the furnace doesn't come on at all.  No error messages.   I cAn connect to it via the app.

I've reset breakers a few times. Reset the Nest a couple times.

Hello Mohgreen,

I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you to install your new Nest Thermostat. Let's see what's going on.

Could you share a photo of your thermostat's wiring with us? Is it possible if you could share a photo of your system's control panel showing how the wires from your thermostat are connected? This is to make sure that it was configured correctly. Also, did your air conditioning work when you activate it?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark

It did not.

Turns out (and I'm paraphrasing the conversation) that when the HVAC system was installed 10ish yrs ago. They did not pull a modern wire for the controller.  They cludged something together in the furnace in order for it to run on 5wire cable from the 70s.

What was on the wall was non standard not color conforming.

New 8wire is being pulled tomorrow.

Hi there,

Sounds like a plan! Thanks for letting me know about this. It'll surely be compatible with your Nest Thermostat, as your system will be reconfigured. Please keep us posted on how things turn out, as I would be glad to know what the result would be.

Regards,

Mark
