AC turning on and off won’t stay running. Installed a nest thermostat gen 4 I have W Y G R wiring.

AC will turn on and off immediately, won’t stay running. I have W Y G R wires. Could this be a wiring issue on the furnace control board?

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand that your air conditioner is turning on but then immediately turns off and doesn’t stay running with your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen). No worries, let’s work together to resolve this. To better assist you, I have some questions:

  • What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?
  • When you turn on your air conditioner, are there any error messages on your Nest Learning Thermostat display? If so, what are they exactly?
  • Does the issue happen on heating, cooling, or both?
  • Could you please share a picture of your current wiring configuration? 
  • Can you please share a picture of the wiring installation on the HVAC system's control board?

Please let me know the answer to these questions.
