We recently got a nest thermostat and during the setup process, we didn’t screw the back plate into the wall before we connected the thermostat face plate. Now we can’t take the thermostat face off and the face won’t power back on.
We need help getting the thermostat face off so we can install this properly but out of ideas on how to get this off. Any thoughts?

It can be hard to remove the baseplate from the display when it's not attached to something.
Look at the writing on the back of the baseplate, the display connector is at the bottom of the writing.
Grasp the display with one hand and, using a finger, put it in the middle hole and pull towards the bottom. The top of the baseplate should pop out, and you can then carefully pull the bottom out.
