Early on not working.

I disabled early on for the summer and recently enabled it for the cooler weather. I have the heating schedule set for 72 at 8 AM. The Nest is not preheating, and the heat is going on at 8 AM.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community forum, @Dan171. We'd be happy to take a look into this. Please answer the following:

  1. Are you from North America or Europe?
  2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  3. Is there a preheating message on the display?
  4. When did the issue first occur?
  5. What is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?
  6. Are all the wires firmly seated into the terminals? (No loose or exposed wires)
  7. Was the Nest thermostat recently reset to factory defaults?

@Snaps, I´m sorry to hear that you're having the same issue, but can you also answer the questions above?

I look forward to your responses.

Best,
Renz

1. I live in North America.

2. I believe it's a Nest Learning T-Stat 3rd Gen.

3. No preheating message on display.

4. It first occurred this fall when I switched over from the A/C to heat. I had disabled the pre-cooling for the summer and reenabled the preheating for the fall. The preheating mode worked fine for the winter. I installed the Nest in November of 2022.

5. The HVAC equipment is HEIL. Model #F8MTL/G8MTL.

6. All the wires are seated properly.

7. I recently did a hard reset thinking it would solve the issue.

Hi folks,

I'm sorry for the delayed reply—sometimes the app or the thermostat doesn’t show on the screen the predicted time to achieve the temperature you've set it to. Could you try to click it to go up a few degrees and then back down to what you had it set on previous if the time will then show up?

I appreciate your help, Renz.

Thanks,

Zoe
