Is there any way to change the hours from 1000 to 500 on the filter reminder system? I feel 1000 is too long for efficient air flow.

Hello ScionCylon,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum.
By default, after 1000 hours of use, the Nest Thermostat will detect when the filter needs to be changed rather than merely notifying you periodically. For instance, your thermostat will likely remind you to change the air filter more frequently if it’s a particularly hot summer and your air conditioner is running frequently.
This always depends on the usage, but if you notice that your air filter appears to be dirty and off-white, even if it's in good condition, the air blows inefficiently as dust and grime build up on it, making the dirt visible. You might need a replacement when it starts to look dingy and filthy.
Feel free to let us know if you have more questions in mind.
Regards,
Mark

If the 1000 hour setting cannot be changed then, I will just go by a calender to change my filter. 1000 hours is just too long to go between filter changes.
