Fine-tuning of cooling and heating operation

Hello,

Could you please explain why there is no fine-tuning on the thermostat? I'll try to clarify.

The standard thermostat program works so that when the temperature reaches the set point, the cooling or heating turns on. However, because the difference is only 1 degree, the cooling or heating turns off when the set temperature is reached and then turns on again as soon as the temperature changes by 1 degree. This is problematic because the system ends up constantly turning on and off within a minute, as the temperature fluctuates within this 1-degree range.

I would like it to work like this: I set a range of 5–10 degrees, and as soon as the temperature reaches the lower threshold (for example, 73 degrees), the system works until it reaches the upper threshold (e.g., 80 degrees).

The problem is that the heating and cooling system works less efficiently when the difference between the current and set temperatures is too small, but it operates at full power when the temperature difference is 12–15 degrees. So, how can I set a range that triggers the system and ensures it works at full Power?

Thank you.

Hi there!

I appreciate you taking the time to post this over the community space.

I understand your desire for a more tailored temperature control experience. Unfortunately, the Nest Thermostat doesn't currently offer a direct 'range' setting. I know this might be disappointing, and I apologize for any inconvenience.
