Google Nest 4th Generation Thermostat. Temperature reads too high

markbarrington1

I installed a Google Nest 4th generation thermostat. After 2 days the thermostat indoor temperature reading is ~2-3 degrees F too high. I'm comparing it to other temperature monitors and to the previous thermostat in the same location.

Is the unit faulty? Is there some way to correct it?

Hi @markbarrington1,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen is reading the indoor temperature too high, but there's no need to worry; I'm happy to help you right now.

I appreciate the information you provided me comparing the temperature with other temperature monitors and your previous thermostat. To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • What type of HVAC system do you have?
  • Is the problem continuous or under specific circumstances?
  • Any recent changes to the HVAC system?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? If so, can you please list them?
  • Can you please send me a picture of the Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen wiring?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,

Gabriela
