Google Nest Thermostat 4th Generation Not showing AUX use data on dashboard

It got really cold the other night and has been for a few days now and I finally caught the Google Home app showing my new 4th generation thermostat using AUX mode.  I could tell it was on in my home too because of the temperature difference so it is working correctly. My wiring is right too by the way, and I do believe all settings are correct.  Everything seems to be working correctly however it's not tracking AUX use in the dashboard.  I heard that it should be a darker orange color for Aux heat.  I have a heat pump, and I would like to see just how long this thermostat is calling for AUX heat in day.  I had a 3rd generation, and it tracked Aux usage on the nest app.  I would assume this 4th generation would do the same.  So far on these few cold days I still have not seen it calculate any AUX time, and I know for a fact it did do it once because I seen AUX on the app in the settings.  Being this thermostat is new maybe there is a bug in the software. Could an update fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Same issue, I don't even see a visual queue that AUX heating is running on the thermostat, but it is visible in the app and is definitely working.

Would love to be able to see AUX usage in the energy dashboard as well.

Well I'm glad it isn't just mine. I talked to support and they wanted me to remove it and send a picture of my wiring but I wasn't able to at the moment and still haven't had a chance too. They are telling me my wiring is wrong without even seeing it. However I know my wiring is definitely correct. This isn't my first nest Thermostat. I had the previous model and it worked on the nest app not Google home and it showed aux usage and I wired it exactly the same as the previous one and I always check my work not only that if I did happen to wire it wrong why would it be working right??? It's wired correctly Google. It has the be a software glitch they haven't worked out or some kind of bug. I hope they can fix this or I might have to go with Ecobee to see this AUX usage history. Aux is a very important to track as this is very expensive to use. It needs fixed ASAP.

Any update to this? I too am dealing with the issue. I can see AUX Heat in my thermostat and in the app that’s it’s running. But when I go in to the dashboard later on it does not seem to show Aux heat was used.

No update. When I spoke with them they acted like they didn't understand what I was talking about. I would have either stayed with the previous model on the nest app or bought a ecobee. Keeping track of my AUX heat is must for me since it's so much more expensive.

I have the same issue. I have the non-learning Nest thermostats (Model Thermostat 1.4) . They are wired correct, working correctly, etc. Those Nest models I have require using the Google Home and not the Nest app. I chatted with Google Nest support about the  Energy dashboard not showing aux or emergency heat usage , They confirmed with advanced support that Google Home Energy dashboard currently does not have that functionality. They submitted that as a feature request to include that, but of course no ETA.

Well, that is a bummer.  If I had known that I probably would have got an Eco bee thermostat this go around.  Seems like the old Nest app had all the great features for all the devices but when it moved to the Google Home app, they took everything that was important to us away.  Where and how did you request this feature?  Maybe if enough of us do this they will add it, but I bet they don't. 😞

Yes, I agree. If I would have known this I would have looked for another option as well.  I have seen other posts out there about Google deprecating the Nest App and moving all to Google Home, not sure how true that is, but yeah I would think they would need to move all features/func.  to Home if that is the case.  That may help if enough people complain... I did tell the support tech that there were forums out there about this same complaint.  I just used Nest support chat - https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp?hl=en  and of course they first tried to make sure my wiring was correct, blah blah blah, but then they finally were clear about my question/issue, then they put me on chat hold for about 5 minutes to escalate to the advanced team and came back and confirmed that Home Energy Dashboard does not show what type of Heat was used. Only Heat or Cool.

Okay, when I talked to them, they checked my wiring too and didn't understand what I meant at first but at the end of the conversation when they talked to someone higher up, they said they were aware of the issue and said in 24 to 48 hours the update would be out to fix it and add new features. I did get an update to the app about 24 hours later but that did not fix that particular issue.  It still does not show AUX heat in dashboard.  The only thing they added was support for the nest protect smoke alarms. Now I can see my smoke alarms in the home app. It still did not fix the AUX issue unfortunately. This on January 13th when I talked to them.

Yeah, sounds very similar to what I experienced with them. And I believe I chatted probably a couple weeks ago also.  I tried to locate my support chat history with them, but not finding it.  I did look on my Android tablet and the Google Home app updated yesterday, but still no dice. I did see when you have the dashboard up and if you click the 3 dots and choose "Feedback" it will send your complaint to them along with a screenshot of your dashboard with the Heat usage.  So I just did that.  Yeah maybe if many of us do that???  Wishful thinking...
