I’m trying to use the System Health Monitor notification function in Google Home app (Google Nest Gen1) but the Urgent alerts and Early warning check boxes won’t stay checked (check mark disappears instantly)

Hi @Sierreone,

Thank you very much for contacting the community! I understand the issues you've been experiencing with the System Health Monitor in the Google Home app; specifically, when you try to activate the "Urgent alerts" and "Early warning" options, the checkmark instantly disappears. Don't worry—I am here to help!

I'd like to ask a few questions to ensure I provide the most relevant troubleshooting steps:

  • Since you mentioned owning a Google Nest (1st gen), would you please send me a photo of your device?

  • What is the make and model of the device where you are using the Google Home app?
  • Are you the primary owner of the 'Home' in the app, or are you a 'Member' with shared access? Sometimes restricted permissions prevent saving changes to system-wide alerts
  • Are you using any VPNs, ad-blockers, or custom DNS settings on your phone or home network?

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,
Eduardo

Hi @Sierreone,

Thank you very much for the information regarding the questions. At this point, I would like you to try the following troubleshooting steps.

  • Temporarily turn off ExpressVPN and your ad blocker on your iPhone.
  • Check that the Google Home app permissions on your iPhone are enabled.
    • Open the Settings app.
    • Scroll to the bottom, tap Google Home, and toggle permissions such as Location, Microphone, and Local Network.
  • Try using another phone with your account in the Google Home app to see if you experience the same issue.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Eduardo
