Home and Away not responsive on 2nd thermostat

I just upgraded to the 4th generation Google Nest thermostat.  I like the look but regretting my decision because now the home and away feature on the Google home app is not automatically switching both my thermostats to Eco mode.  Just the one in my living room not the second one in my bedroom.  I have my location settings as always.  And have no idea how to manually change it to Eco mode either.    I called the help line they were worthless.  It was a lot easier with the original Nest App.  Anyone know how to get both to change to Eco when away?
