My Nest thersmostat gen2 is reading 68 degrees and 0% humidity and it is 84 degrees inside with 66% humidity. Can I reset or adjust any setting in the setup screen?

Hello gjorge1394,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

To isolate:

  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • Where did you install your thermostat? (in a room and on a wall or stand)
  • Do you have other active Nest Thermostats? Do they show the same issue?
  • Is your thermostat installed near heat sources? (Air vents, appliances, electrical outlets, and other potential heat sources)
  • Please gather the Signal strength value from your actual thermostat.
    • Go to Settings > Technical Info > Network.

Please try these steps:

  1. Restart your thermostat.
  2. Turn on Sunblock.
    1. Go to Settings > Nest Sense > Sunblock.
  3. Cover the wall with a duct seal compound at the location where the thermostat is installed to close the penetration in the wall and serve as an insulator.
  4. Disconnect your thermostat to your Wi-Fi network for 24 hours to monitor the ambient temperature.
    1. Go to Settings > Reset > Network.

Please let me know if that helps, or if the issue still persists.

Regards,

Mark
