Multiple schedules

ChrisBen

PLEASE do something about Nests current inability to have multiple heating and/or cooling schedules.  Give the user more control. Create a second app for users that wasn't more control.  Do something other than reply with your standard posts. Very, very frustrating - for years.

I agree 100%, but I wouldn't hold my breath that anything will be done.  I advise replacing your Nest thermostat with any other brand.

I'm going to venture a guess as to what kind of response your post is likely to receive (probably in a few weeks at the soonest):

"I know how important this is to you, but we have no news on this front and will be shutting down this thread in 24 hours.  Allow me to suggest other venues to share your feedback."

Translation:
I'm a bot with preprogrammed canned responses.  We don't plan on listening to our customers or making any meaningful changes that don't increase our market share or our ability to better manipulate said customers.  This forum only exists to create the illusion that customer service is something we value.  The other forums mentioned are also for show and simply elongate the manner in which we make our customers chase their own tails.  We already have your money, so go f*** yourselves.

Hi everyone,

We hear you, @ChrisBen. We're always looking for ways to improve, and we appreciate your feedback.

Although the multiple schedule feature is not currently available, please be assured that our product team is working non-stop with different partners to bring the best to the Google Nest devices. So, please let our product team know about it by submitting a feature request.

@davidbutts77, our Community Specialists have tried to address your past questions and concerns in multiple threads. While we understand your frustration, we ask that you remain respectful when responding in the forum. As a reminder - bullying, profanity, and pestering/targeted negativity toward an individual are against our Community Guidelines (you can find them here). These rules apply to everyone and help us keep community discussions on topic, safe, and helpful.  If you continue to breach these guidelines we will take action, which can include restricting access to content and limiting your ability to post in the Nest Community.  Thank you.

In the meantime, I'll go ahead and lock this thread within 24 hours. If you run into any more questions in the future, please feel free to create a new thread.

All the best,

Zoe

May I ask why you are closing the thread without addressing a serious resolution to the issue @ChrisBen brought up?

You did, pretty much, exactly what I said you were going to do which was to wait a few weeks to respond only to say that feedback is important followed by shutting down the discussion without any serious attempt at a resolution other than sharing a link to another source that we have already used.  I, and others, have submitted requests via the link you provided, but those requests have been ignored for years.

You directed to me the comment: "our Community Specialists have tried to address your past questions and concerns in multiple threads", which I respectfully disagree with.  My questions (which really boils down to one - "why isn't there a multiple schedules option on Nest as this is a basic feature with every other thermostat?") have never been directly addressed in any meaningful way.  Instead, I've been told the following in avoidance of the actual request :

  • we appreciate your feedback
  • we have no news
  • we are working hard to provide quality products
  • tell another forum about it (which I've done exhaustively with the same success rate I've had on this forum)
  • we're shutting down this thread if you don't have any other questions

None of these help us resolve our problem, so I hope you can understand our frustrations.

Furthermore, I have read the community guidelines you shared and am not aware of how I've breached them, so can you please provide a specific example so I can more fully understand and avoid doing so in the future.  I do not believe I have harassed anyone.  I do believe I've been as persistent as I need to be to keep the conversation open and to make it as clear as possible what the issues are.  Expressing frustration as a result of being stonewalled does not appear in those guidelines.

At a minimum could you please provide an explanation for why Google Nest is unwilling to address this simple issue year after year?  Please do not shut down the conversation until you, or someone else, have provided such an explanation.

Thank you.
