My compressor starts and then immediately stops. I it might be the nest thermostat.

The thermostat calls for heat and the heat pump will run for a while but then it will stop. The thermostat seems to know that the heat pump is stopped so I think that there is something about the thermostat or the settings causing it to start the thermostat, continually tries to restart the compressor  at three minute intervals I believe based on the settings Andi the compressor tries to start and then immediately shuts back down and then the thermostat goes back into a cycle where in a few minutes it will try to start the compressor again

Hi @Graveyj2000,

Thanks for posting in the community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this with your Nest thermostat and your compressor. Don't worry, let's work together to fix this.

Can you tell me what type of thermostat you have? I also recommend checking the air filter. If the air filter is dirty and needs to be changed, please change it and then test the compressor to see if the issue persists..

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Cheers,

Jonathan
