Does your thermostat have replaceable batteries?

Does it have a C wire installed?

I boght the nest brand new . It looks like the battery that was with the unit lost its charge at 1.533v which I think is still ok . I did buy new energizer battery and it worked . No I don’t have a C wire .
I don’t understand why they would include batteries that has a no name brand on it .

everything good now . thank you

The error came back again after 2 days replacing the battery. I don’t get anymore . Do I need a stronger battery ?

I don’t get it . If I get a transformer c cable to connect than it will look bad either way extra wiring .
pls help !

@Patrick_Caezza @Pls help

the error came back again after replacing the battery. Do I need a stronger battery ?I don’t have a c cable with my furnace . It still works but system error is occurring with the N262 code . It worked for 2 days after replacing the battery .

I don’t know what else to do and I don’t want to get a c cable transformer it will look so bad wire coming out

Sorry again my bad . With all these errors popping up it’s actually a N260 error .
I tried another battery with 1.69 V and it did not clear the code . I’m so confused now why the new battery started to work and now the error stays on .
AAA battery energizer I used .

Hi @Berniejim1969,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Nest Thermostat because it is showing you an error code (N260) and it is having issues with Farsight; I understand how difficult it is when your thermostat stops working as expected. I appreciate all the relevant information you shared. I'm happy to assist.

@Patrick_Caezza, Thanks for jumping in.

The error code you are having typically indicates a power sharing issue. Because your thermostat requires a constant, stable power supply to maintain the battery and run features like Farsight, I recommend installing a C-wire or a Nest Power Connector. This will provide the consistent power delivery needed to resolve the error and restore full functionality.

I hope this information helps.

Best regards,

Derick.
