Hi,
I have just replaced my Nest 2nd Gen Thermostat (which was working perfectly) with the 4th Gen. A schedule was created and when the Heat Pump reaches the desired scheduled Temperature, the Heat Pump does not stop. It keeps running until we either touch the dial, lower the temperature using dial knob, or insert a new entry in the schedule.
The same can be said if the current temperature falls below the scheduled temperature for the given period, the thermostat does not start the Heat Pump. The only way to get it to start is to either turn the dial or insert a new entry into the schedule.
This was all working with my 2nd Nest thermostat. Is there something I am just not doing right. The new thermostat wires match the old. I can upload a picture of both if that helps. It's become very frustrating and I am staring to regret the move.
Any help of insight would be appreciated.
Thank You
Antonio

Hi @AntonioF,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the new Nest Thermostat (4th gen) that isn't turning your heat pump on or off by itself; even though your schedule is set, you have to manually turn the dial every time. I appreciate you confirming that your old thermostat worked perfectly with the same wires. I'm happy to assist.
It could be that your reverse valve activation is likely set to seasonal instead of cyclical. Some heat pumps require cyclical activation.
Please try the steps below:
I'll be waiting for your reply.
Best regards.
