Nest Learning Thermostat lets house get WAY too cold

The nest allows my house to get to 15*C (59*F) for hours on end when it is set to 22*C (72*F). It kicks on when it wants to and achieves the correct temp. I have deleted all schedules which was only ever one that set night temp to 19*C (66*F) and have disabled “eco mode”.

The thermostat shows no errors or indications of malfunctions, it seems to be the way it is supposed to work.. I turn the dial to some ridiculous high temp in hopes it will see that I want it to warm up in here, but nothing will make this thing heat up my house until it decides.

Hi The_Canuck,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with your Nest Learning thermostat, which is not changing the temperature to get warmer. I understand how frustrating it can be when things don't work as expected. But don't worry; help is here. I just need to ask for some information to provide the best solution:

  • What is the exact generation of Nest Learning Thermostat that you have?
  • Is this a new installation?
  • What kind of HVAC system do you have?
  • When was the last maintenance check for your HVAC system?
  • Could you please try to test if this situation happens with the cooling too?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

Jenny
