I am setting up my thermostat, trying to creata a schedule. When I change a setting for to change the temperature at one time (say 7AM), it changes all the other temperature changes I scheduled at other times to the 7AM setting. This happens both in the Comfort schedule & a custom schedule. What am I doing wrong?

Mine seems to be doing weird stuff like this as well. For example in my previous gen 2 model, I could set individual temps for when it was on cool only mode or heat only mode and then set different times to reach different temps. Now with my gen 4, I can’t even set temps within 3° of each other on the hot and cold side since I want different temps for my cooling season and my heating season.
not a fan at all of this new gen 4 model. I was perfectly happy with my gen 2 but they are discontinuing app control with it.

Not a fan either this app is so clunky and not easy to navigate at all. The Nest app was so easy and smooth to use I really hate google bought Nest and now we are stuck with this garbage.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) does not keep your Schedules, Comfort, and custom Temperature presets settings and instead changes them to the wrong values. I understand how frustrating this must be, and I'm glad to help you get this resolved.
To determine the most effective troubleshooting plan, I need a little more information. Could you please answer the following questions?
If you have any additional details that might be helpful, feel free to share them with me.
Regards,
Gabriela

I have the same issue. This google home app is garbage. I hate everything about it I want to be able to set a schedule with heat warm up in the morning and turn down in the evening and I can’t even do that with this new app. The Nest app was so much smoother and easier to set a schedule. Why is there a heat to and cool to option when I’m trying to only set my heat schedule? This makes me want to return this awful thermostat and go back to my first gen Nest that was way easier to operate. I’ll deal with not using an app at least I can set a proposer schedule which you cannot even set a schedule for the thermostat either anymore.

Hi @Anthony215,
Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry for the trouble you've had with the heating schedules on your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen in the Google Home app. I understand how difficult this must be, and I'm here to help you.
Please answer the questions in the previous post so I can assist you more effectively.
I look forward to your response so we can get this resolved.

Well Gabriela, since screenshots are needed to illustrate exactly what myself and countless others have already explained, here they are. If Google insists on forcing users over to this poorly designed Home app, it should at least meet or exceed the functionality of the original NEST app. Instead, this version feels clunky, overly restrictive, and far inferior, especially when it comes to scheduling and overall usability. It is incredibly frustrating to see such a major downgrade.
Not sure what a picture of wiring has to do with setting a schedule when i was able to set one easily on the 1st Gen Thermostat. And there is no way to attach a photo on this form page. I have Y1, G, Rh, C, W1 wired in.

Replying to you doesn't allow me to attach a photo, I have to post in a new post. have to create a new post altogether:

@GabrielaG this problem isn’t an issue with the wiring or the physical device per se. This is purely a software/app issue.
In the original Nest app, when I have the thermostat to heat only mode, I can set the temperatures to whatever degree I wanted and at what times for each and everyday. Then when I switch to the cool only mode, I could do the same. For example, in summer I could set my temp to not go above 70° and then at night I could cool it down to 69° or 68°. Then in the winter months I could set my heat to not drop below 70° during the day but at night not let it drop below 69° or 68°. Each mode was independent of the other mode. You could set the same exact temperature for heat and cool.
Now moving over to the new Google app, even if I select Cool only mode or heat only mode it gives me the recaptures for both heat and cool and they are always 3° apart so I can’t set the temp to 70° in summer for cooling and then leave that same setting when winter comes to keep the house at 70° because heaven forbid the heat temp can’t be the same as the cool temp it would have to be set to 67° and when I try to change that temp then it automatically raises the cool temp from 70° to 73° because it has to keep a 3° difference from the heat and cool temperature degrees.
In the Nest app, it didn’t care what the heat temps were set to when you were in cooling mode. You were only setting the temp for whichever mode you were in.
The Google app is terrible and assumes that all of us live in sunny California and that we want to use the “smart features” of the thermostat and that the climate will always be similar year round. I live in a place where we have all 4 seasons and sometimes all in the same day. So manually settings work best for me.
