Nest Thermostat Indoor Temp Stuck at 92

My thermostat is listing the indoor temperature at 92° F. It's 28 degrees outside right now and about 55 degrees in the house. I've tried changing the batteries, reinstalling the app, and a hard reset. Nothing is working. I've had this thermostat for three years without any issues.

Hi JDavis355,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I understand that your Nest Thermostat is reporting an incorrect, fixed indoor temperature of 92°F, which is preventing it from running properly. I appreciate your diligence in trying to resolve this sensor error. I'm glad to assist you with this concern.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • Where did you install your thermostat? (E.g., in a specific room, on a wall, or on a stand?)
  • Do you have other active Nest thermostats?
  • When did the issue start?
  • What is the brand/model of the HVAC/heat pump?
  • Is the problem continuous or does it happen under specific circumstances?
  • Have there been any recent changes to the HVAC system?
  • Have there been any recent power outages or power issues?
  • Could you please post in this thread photos of the HVAC/heat pump?
  • What country are you located in?

Please reply with the requested information so we can continue troubleshooting and find a solution.

Best regards,

Virna
