Nest fan only

Hi there just installed a 3rd Gen learning thermostat I would like to run the fan without ac or heat. I watched YouTube videos and it shows there's a fan but mine does not have that. Is it because there's no g wire connected? Thanks for the help!

Maybe this help article will help. We do NOT have a Nest thermostat, but we run our fan all the time, even when the system is off and neither heating or cooling. For us, this is another reason NOT to get a Nest thermostat.

You need a G wire to manually control the fan. Without it, there is no way for any thermostat to control it.
