Nest learning thermostat won't power on

  • Installed new Nest and powered up both AC and heat. No response on the thermostat. All the wires are properly connected, including C. How can I tell if the thermostat is faulty?

Post a picture of the original thermostats wiring

Check to see if the fuse on the control board in the furnace/air handler blew.

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for the help here, @Patrick_Caezza.

@Roger_M, your thermostat's battery might be dead because it was locked in storage for a long period of time. Please try charging it for an hour using a USB charger. Make sure to connect it directly to a wall outlet, and you should see a message on your thermostat screen and a green LED light flashing. Have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.

Best,

Mark
