Nest thermostat 4G won’t display icons

I installed a nest thermostat 4G a couple of days ago and it was working great. Today the app shows the device, but in grey, not in the blue of other devices. The thermostat itself does not give access to anything other than a display about the current state. Turning the dial changes the goal temperature. I can vaguely see the icons, but pressing the device just gives a different status display.

Thank you so much for posting in the Google Nest Community Forum. I understand that your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th generation isn't providing access to additional features and is only displaying the current state. I'd be glad to share more details with you.

Regarding this situation, we're aware of an issue with accessing thermostat controls in the Google Home app. We’ll share an update as soon as possible; thanks for your patience.
