Nest thermostat creating schedules on its own

due to your planed obsolescence you made me buy a new 4th gen thermostat.

i only have two schedules comfort and sleep. Then when we leave the house we use the home/away to go to eco.  (This is all i want)

somehow my thermostat keeps adding schedules when I have all the features turned off for learning etc.

what can I do to stop this?!? I was doing just fine with my last thermostat. Its very frustrating.

Hi Oatman2000,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I understand that your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) is automatically setting schedules, even after you've disabled the smart features. I know this can be frustrating, especially when adjusting to a new model after relying on an older one. Let's work together to solve this issue and get your Eco Temperature settings configured exactly the way you need them.

To better assist you, I’d like to ask for the following information:

  • Do you notice any intervals or specific patterns between these strange behaviors?
  • When the thermostat turns on unexpectedly with these schedules, have you noticed if it changes for cooling or heating?
  • Are there any error messages? If so, what are they exactly?
  • Are you enrolled in any energy-saving programs like Rush Hours or Nest Renew?

In the meantime, I'd suggest checking your Energy History to see if any features are causing these unexpected temperature changes. For reference, you can check out this article: Thermostat Energy History.

I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
