PTAC blowing hot air instead of cold

I have an Amana PTAC unit that was installed and worked fine blowing cool air on the first day. Afterwards it started blowing hot air instead of cold air

switching between O and B wire on the app did not work unfortunately. Any thoughts on what I’m missing?

Hi @Lilytam627,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) and your HVAC system worked correctly, and now you are receiving hot air instead of cool air. I appreciate you confirming that switching the O and B wires in the app did not resolve the issue. I'll be happy to help you with this.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • Was the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) installed at the same time as your HVAC unit, or did you have a different thermostat previously? If so, could you please provide a picture of the previous thermostat’s wiring?
  • When did the issue start?
  • What type of HVAC system do you have, heat pump or conventional?
  • Could you please try setting the thermostat to heat mode to see if it blows cold air?
  • Besides switching the O and B wires in the app, what other troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.
