I just replaced a gen 1 with the gen 4.  I cannot believe how poorly the software is on the gen 4 vs. the gen 1.   Most of the install was shutting off crap that is little to no value and the options I loved (temp range vs target temp) seems to be gone.  And on top of it, my other property has a gen 3 thermostat and that needs to run on the old Nesr App while the new gen 4 must run on Google home (again crappy software).  Who was the idiot who through this was a smart transition plan.  I should have known to look for a different company’s product, Google has a great track record of ruining great innovation. When they acquire a company;  and they did it again.
